louisville co fun
Summers are bustling in Louisville. Best of all, most of the fun will cost you nothing (or the price of a drink or food). We took a look at our friendly neighbors and found plenty of free things to do for the entire family. This way, the next time you want to skip town, you don’t have to skip far or spend much to find the fun!

Summer Concerts in the Park

Enjoy free all-ages welcome concerts every Thursday evening in Louisville. Concerts go from June 22nd until July 20th, and kick off at 7 p.m. Bluegrass, Latin, Motown, Pop, and Funk are just some of the eclectic music styles you’ll hear. This all takes place at Louisville Community Park located at 955 Bella Vista Dr. Visit their website to check out the calendar to find out which style of music is playing and to learn more about the performers.

Louisville’s Annual Fourth of July Celebration

This fun, family-friendly event includes live patriotic music performed by the Boulder Concert Band, free balloon twisting, free face painting, bounce houses, local food trucks, and of course, a fireworks display. Fireworks begin at dark, approximately at 9 p.m. The event takes place on Tuesday, July 4th from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. at Coal Creek Golf Course located at 585 W. Dillon Road. There is no parking at the golf course, but there is a free shuttle from the Louisville Recreation Center and the Home Depot parking lots.

The Downtown Louisville Street Faire

Every Friday night until August 11th (except July 7th), Downtown Louisville is bustling with their famous Street Faire. Events run from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., and music goes from 6:30 p.m. to about 9 p.m. (rain or shine). The event is free, but food and drinks are available for purchase. Parking could be tough so consider the Bicycle Corral or the free shuttle. Bike parking is located behind Bittersweet and next to Por Wine Bar, and remember to bring your lock. Shuttles run from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m., and pick you up from the Hobby Lobby parking lot (look for the red shuttle flag). Shuttles drop off and pick up from Louisville Museum (1001 Main Street). For more information and a schedule of performers, check out their website.

The Louisville Farmers Market

The free Louisville Farmers Market takes place every Saturday through October 14th from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. It’s located at 824 Front Street. You’ll find locally grown and produced fruits and veggies, wines, breads, salsas, pastas, coffee, baked goods, and much more. In addition, there’s plenty of natural products, crafts, and live music. For more information or to see a schedule of their entertainment, check out their website.
