If you know what it’s like to find an irreplaceable moment on a Sunday morning — jazz standards sweeping through your home, mixing with the sweet note of coffee well-brewed — yeah, I want to talk to you. Boulder Jazzfest 2013 hits the Pearl Street Mall on May 4 and 5.
This is your thing (and you know it).
It’s the 8th annual Boulder JazzFest and this year’s event will feature over 100 Colorado artisans and musicians. And to find it? All you have to do is head down to the Pearl Street Mall and stroll between 11th and 14th Streets.
Here, you’ll find a delightful array of photographers, mixed media artists, and musicians lined up to add some texture to that cuppa whatever in your hand. If you’ve never been down to Pearl Street during a festival, this is the perfect primer to the summer festival season.
With the Open Arts Festival coming up in July (save the dates – July 20 and 21), those new to Boulder can get the early lay of the land. Boulder JazzFest is much more mellow than the crowds that Open Air draws and you can take your time, explore some shops on Pearl Street that you haven’t been able to before, and enjoy some crisp weather and live music with family and friends.
The event is free and definitely a family-friendly event. Stroll the blocks and catch performances from the Leder Jazz Quartet, Suzanne Paris and more. While it’s snowy today, the weekend forecast shows pretty much zip for precipitation and temps in the mid-50s. For Boulder, that’s downright balmy (especially in light of our erratic weather as of late)!
Events each day run from 10AM to 7PM, so you can make as big or little a day of it as you like. We hope to see you out and about, grooving with your cuppa and taking in the Boulder arts scene.
