Some people think of Boulder as flatlands, but in reality we’re surrounded by some pretty epic hills and great skiing. All you have to do is hop in your car and drive right up Boulder Canyon.

Boulder skiing is ready and waiting for the entire family at Eldora Mountain Resort, approximately 45 minutes outside of downtown. The town surrounding Eldora is Nederland, a locale ripe with quaint shops and cafes for either before or aprés ski.

What to Expect at Eldora Mountain Resort

Depending on the year, Eldora might have some of the best snow in the ski areas surrounding Boulder and Denver. As with any ski area, however, conditions are going to very with the weather. The best part, though, is that Boulder skiing is never far away and that makes for a great half day with family or friends in the blink of an eye. There’s everything from a bunny slope with a conveyor belt to move new skiers up the hill to over 680 acres of completely skiable terrain for people of every skill level.

New to skiing in the Boulder area? Don’t miss this insider’s tip: Eldora Mountain Sports. It’s located in Boulder proper at Canyon and 28th and you can purchase discounted lift tickets here and avoid paying full price on the mountain.

New to skiing and boarding or just haven’t splurged for your own gear yet? No problem. You can rent a wide variety of ski and snowboard equipment on the mountain. For a taste of what’s available, from gear suitable for first-timers to those wanting an edgier ride, have a look at Eldora’s ski and snowboard rentals page for what they’re offering each season.

And don’t worry about not knowing how to ski or board — Eldora has you covered. You’ll be heading downhill (in a good way) before you know it with their comprehensive ski and snowboard lessons program.

We’ll leave you with one more tip: grab a piece of their Ten-8 Club. For only $49 for season pass holders (and $59 for everyone else), you get a whole slew of bonuses that will set you up for Boulder skiing fun — and on a budget:

  • 1 $10 lift ticket
  • Full day lift ticket at 1/2 day rate for the entire season – discount valid for the 10-8 club card holder only, lift ticket discount non-transferable
  • 1 free ski or snowboard tune
  • 1 free one-day basket check
  • Official Ten-8 Club hat

You can even buy your Ten-8 Club pass online!
