You heard me right … 108. Add 10 local yoga teachers into the mix along with all of your cleansing breathing and bending and you’ve got The Wellness Initiative’s 2013 Yogathon.
The Yogathon is the primary fundraiser for The Wellness Initiative, a Boulder-based organization that hosts yoga classes for youth across the Front Range. The goal of this year’s workshop is to fund in excess of 600 yoga classes during the coming year, each helping students with mental challenges and otherwise stressful environments.
If you’re one of Boulder’s fledgling or dedicated yoginis, why not join in the festivities for the 2013 Yogathon? It’s easy to get involved.
When: April 27, 2013
Where: Naropa University Nalanda Campus (63rd Street & Arapahoe Avenue)
What’s the schedule? Check it out here. Registration begins at 8:30AM and the event runs until 12:30PM.
How do I register? Easy. Click here.
How can I donate to support The Wellness Institute’s programs? If you’re not into the bending and breathing or simply can’t make this year’s event, just click here to make a donation. They’ll be most appreciative!
All participants in the Yogathon are asked to commit to raising $108 (a modest $1 for each sun salutation) to help the program reach its goals. Their goal this year is to raise $40,000 — and you could be a part of that! They make it easy to raise funds as well. All registrants can sign up for their own fundraising page during the registration process, making it super easy to nudge your friends into donating a dollar or two. And seriously — a $108 goal shouldn’t be too hard to hit. Just walk into your next yoga class with your smart phone and start taking donations!
