Maybe you’re not a lady who’s into “used clothing”. Understandable. But see, you’ve probably never been to Common Threads, a delightfully upscale resale and consignment boutique located in central Boulder.
If you’re a lover of flash sale sites like 6pm.com or Ruelala.com, you owe it to yourself to duck into Common Threads. Inventory changes daily and you’ll be feasting your eyes on treasures across the upscale spectrum.
Joe’s Jeans and 7forallMankind? They have them (and in multiple sizes).
Looking for a Prada wrap or a pair of Chanel shoes with delightful kitten heels? Hang on to your hat — you just might score one of them. And the best part for the fashionista in Boulder is you’ll be scoring some select fashion treasures for a song!
Common Threads boasts that they bring in everything from “Forever 21 to Louis Vuitton”. The racks are always full (but not overbearingly so) and the shop ladies have discerning tastes. One of the most delightful parts of the Common Threads shopping experience is the jewelry display case at the front, always filled with little bits of joy to add some bling to your favorite (or soon-to-be-favorite) outfit. They also typically have a sale rack outside the store on fair weather days — it’s a great place to keep an eye out for total steals and deals on a great new piece for your wardrobe.
Now, let’s look at the other sides of Common Threads — their community and consignment offerings.
Every girl knows that there comes a time when she has to clean out her closet. When you find yourself facing those beautiful items that served you well (or not so well and still have the tags on), why not bring them down to Common Threads to consign? To be safe, call ahead and ask what they’re looking for item-wise (especially as seasons change — they only take current-season items, so no sweaters in June!). Then, bring your clean and pressed items down and they’ll have a look and select what they’d like to take on consignment. All consignment periods are 45 days and the seller received 50% of the proceeds. As your items sell, they add your proceeds to your account. If you’d like to come in and shop, you can use your account balance and enjoy a 10% discount on purchases when you do. At the end of the consignment period, you can have your items returned or they will donate them to charity. Read more about their consignment policies here.
Finally, community. The store partners in support of many community organizations and also offers classes and other special events. From knitting and crochet classes to runway-style events, you just might find something that gets you out of the house in the name of fashion!
So — maybe it’s time to rethink how you feel about resale. Common Threads is all about high quality, gently worn fashions that will make your wardrobe “wow”. And you’ll save considerable coin (and maybe clean out your closet) in the process!
