You can’t miss Fate Brewing’s bright yellow awnings and signs. And that’s exactly what Mike Lawinski, the owner, intended when he took over the former Mexican restaurant located one block west of Foothills Parkway on Arapahoe Avenue.
With it’s ample outdoor seating, comfy atmosphere and fine selection of craft brew, Fate Brewing has every reason to believe that good things are meant to be. And that’s, well … a good thing.
Head brewer Jeff Griffith, of Golden City brewery fame, is the one responsible for all the deliciousness that comes pouring out of the taps. In his 3000 square foot brewery, he and his team of brewers have created a variety of beer styles.
From the easy-drinking Kölsch to the three different varieties of IPA, there’s bound to be something you like on tap on Fate. And if you need some help, you can build your own flight and taste a few different types. Two standouts include the Roggenbier (a Rye beer) and the Watermelon Kölsch, which is the perfect summer drink for beer lovers.
In addition to the ones they make on site, Fate has collaborated with other local breweries to make special batches of guest beers. There are also specialty imports and select craft brews from around the country that you can try. And if beer isn’t your thing (whaaaaat?), you’re still covered. Fate offers a full bar, custom cocktails, wine, and drinks for the designated driver.
But the beer isn’t the only reason to come to Fate.
Billing itself as a “brew-bistro,” the menu features locally-sourced ingredients like beef from a Greeley ranch, gluten-free options (ask for the GF hamburger buns!) and many dishes that incorporate some of the house beer. Fate does dinner 7 days a week and brunch on the weekends.
As Fate’s logo suggests, there is a mine-like feeling to the place — if that mine were located in a trendy bar. Reclaimed wooden beams, rusted steel plating and exposed concrete under the bar add to the ambiance. There are a few televisions in the restaurant, meaning that Fate is also a good destination for those seeking out a game day gathering place.
Fate Brewing is located just off the bike path and has plentiful parking for bicycles. Be sure to ride your bike over on a summer day to fully enjoy the pints on their patio.
