It’s the last weekend in June, Boulder! What happened–it’s like I blinked and it’s suddenly about to be July…
And how did I manage to get all the way to July without talking to you about the Colorado Shakespeare Festival? They are performing their 60th annual (!) series of Shakespeare under the stars, and this summer’s offerings are not to be missed. They’re doing Hamlet with a female Hamlet, they’re doing Stoppard’s postmodern take on Hamlet, called Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, they’re doing classics Julius Caesar and Taming of the Shrew...I mean, this season is dynamite!
Boulder Burlesque is going to be performing and teaching workshops at Arise music festival this summer, and they need help with funds. As such, they’re doing a Bikini Car Wash this Saturday and Sunday morning, to titillate, clean your car, feed you pancakes, and gather the funds needed to sponsor this big event. Dancing and non-alcoholic spritzers will also be happening.
Of course, it being technically the weekend where most folks are celebrating the 4th of July, there’s more than one festival going on in Boulder, including the Full Spectrum show on Friday, and the Boulder Art and Jazz festival, happening all weekend on into Monday. If you venture downtown this weekend, there’ll be lots to see, hear and enjoy.
Speaking of festivals: The Colorado Music Festival begins this weekend! So very many amazing musical acts will be swinging by the historical Chautauqua auditorium from this weekend through the rest of the summer, none of which you should miss.
The best summer drink deal is still the Boulder Passport: 2017 Boulder Passport. This is ongoing all summer–it’s a great deal for 2fers, happy hour prices, and more on drinks all over Boulder.
Happy July, Boulder, and have yourselves a good one!
