Cheers to Upslope’s Newest Taproom in East Boulder

upslope brewing taproomSnuggled into a corporate park is not the first place you think to find a taproom. Yet Upslope Brewing Company has opened their newest taproom in just such a place. The East Boulder location (1898 S. Flatiron Court to be exact) has only been open a month and has already started to create a buzz. The Boulder County Business Report recently named Upslope as the #5 fastest growing business in the county and if this taproom is any indication, I don’t see that growth slowing down anytime soon.

Hidden among similar-looking buildings, it’s easy to miss the taproom. Just keep your eyes open for a big silver hopper with an Upslope sign on it. Once you find the place, however, it’s definitely worth it. The taproom features a sleek modern aesthetic with exposed light bulbs and stainless silver taplines specially designed by the taphouse managers. Not to mention the black polished concrete bar that curves through the room.

While there is space for a kitchen, one hasn’t been built yet. Upslope plans on offering food at some point but brewery owners are still in the process of working out details. Additionally, they have a private room/work cafe/meeting space available for rent.

From traditional pales ales to more experimental styles like the Belgian IPA, Upslope offers a solid choice of beers that span the taste spectrum. Since tasters cost $1.50, you can afford to try a few different types of beers. If you have an Upslope favorite, full pints go for $4.50. Happy hour is Monday through Friday, from 11am to 2pm. Upslope also shares a wall with Ozo Coffee Roasters and there may already be talks of brewing an Imperial Stout together. With a lot of coffee in it, I’m hoping.

Upslope has plans for a front patio, which is a welcome taproom addition for any summertime beer drinker. Until then, enjoy the laid-back attitude and cozy atmosphere of the taproom’s interior. There’s plenty of delicious beer to go around.

And, for those with children of the two or four-footed kind, you’ll be happy to hear that the taproom is both family and dog-friendly. Be sure to check out Upslope’s East Boulder location soon before it becomes too busy.
