When you date a guy who’s into soccer, you learn more about soccer than you ever thought there was to learn. Hey — I pay attention! That’s why I know it’s a pretty big deal that the US is matched up with Ghana in this year’s World Cup.
Why? Because Ghana is a damn solid bunch of soccer players and a good reason to put to rest for good all your jokes about folks in third world countries.
Want to see what the excitement is all about? Head on down to the Boulder Theater on Monday, June 16 and you’ll be able to see the US take on Ghana at the Brasil 2014 World Cup on the biggest screen in Boulder. Admission is free and it’s open to all ages. It’s even better than a Colorado Rapids game.
On a side note, did you know that the guy who owns the Colorado Rapids also owns Arsenal (one of the leading UK teams), the Denver Nuggets, the St. Louis Rams, the Colorado Avalanche, and the Colorado Mammoth? He’s estimated to be worth about $4.1B and is married to Sam Walton’s (of Walmart) daughter. Just in case you’re held up at gunpoint in a random alley and faced with rapid-fire sports trivia.
The Boulder Theater is streaming all of the US games live and for FREE this year. You can check out additional games on June 22 and June 26 as well.
Get all of the details over at The Boulder Theater — and remember. Soccer IS the most popular sport in the owrld and everyone else calls it football. We’re the only ones who use the wrong name for the right game.
