Boulder’s an international training destination for athletes the world over. Thanks to our altitude, varied terrain, and combination of winding hills, fast flats, water, and woodland, extreme athletes flock to the haven that is Boulder for the year-round training challenge.
This Wednesday, local triathletes might want to flock to Boulder Book Store for the release of Marc Evans’ new book designed to amp up the performance of every level of triathlete, from beginner to badass. Join Marc at 7:30PM at Boulder Book Store as he unveils his new book, “Triathletes in Motion.”
A little bit about the book:
Traditionally the focus of triathlon is on volume, intensity, and training periodization—doing particular workouts during the time leading up to a race. But what if you could improve performance without logging extra distance on the road or in the water? That is the promise of Triathletes in Motion: Assessing Movement for World-Class Technique and Performance. In this book, Marc Evans makes the case that every triathlon training regimen should start with the physical assessments of movement.
Maybe your goal this year is to achieve a better run time. Maybe your swim needs work. Whatever your goal, Marc will show you how to achieve it without increasing your distance or time in the pool. Sounds like a dream, right? Triathletes are heavily prone to overtraining (I mean, come on — it’s only three sports in one race, right?), so do your body and your race time a favor and stop into Boulder Book Store for some training wisdom from Marc.
Want the in-depth scoop on the book? Check that out here. Boulder Book Store events are a $5 voucher cost, which can be redeemed for merchandise day-of in the store. There’s no RSVP required, but you can purchase your voucher in advance by stopping by the store at 1107 Pearl Street or by calling 303-447-2074. Easy peasy. Now, Boulder — go get your swim, bike, run on.
