I’ll say it. I have no idea who’s running for Boulder City Council. But I should. Our federal government is shut down and if ever there were a time where the importance of political participation was evident — it’s now.
Tonight, you can meet the candidates runnning for Boulder City Council in an event sponsored by Elephant Journal. It begins at 7:30 PM and will be at Shine Restaurant and Gathering Place located at 2027 13th Street.
Check out the event page on Elephant Journal here. The event will be hosted /moderated by Waylon Lewis, founder of Elephant Journal and host of the Walk the Talk Show. That page also has links to interviews he’s performed with other candidates, but you can get to those interviews directly here.
The event is free if you eat dinner and show your receipt. It’s only $3 if you just want to have a drink and $5 if you’re just there for the facts and want to skip the food and drink.
If you’re a Facebooker, RSVP to tonight’s event here.
Finally, if you’re interested in doing some independent candidate research on those running for Boulder City Council, here’s a listing of the twelve certified candidates for the five available seats.
But wait — that’s not “finally” after all. Are you registered to vote? You have until October 28 to register to vote and at this time, you must register online. The League of Women Voters of Boulder County has all the information you need right here.
We’ll see you at the polls!
