What to do when the 5PM whistle blows? Well, first, you’re going to have to let me know who in town actually has a whistle. Secondly, I have a few ideas for destinations and to-dos this evening when you’ve cut out of the office for the day.
First, entrepreneurially-minded folks might want to head on over to Galvanize for 1 Million Cups. Here, two startups will go head-to-head and get valuable feedback about their business ideas from an audience of mentors, advisors, and other entrepreneurs. If you’ve got a startup in your brain, you can even pitch to present at a future event. Rumor has it those in the audience learn a ton as well, so if business is your 24/7 or post-5PM jam, Galvanize has you covered this evening.
Finally, those of the more literary persuasion will want to head on over to the Boulder Book Store (ah, the smell of a room full of books!). Philip Conors, author of “The Fire Season,” returns to Boulder with his second book, “All the Wrong Places.” This evening’s event gets you up close and personal with the author himself along with what I’m sure will be a lively Q&A. It’s a voucher event (only $5). Vouchers can be purchased at the door and are redeemable same day for $5 off merchandise.
And if for any reason neither of those goings on float your fancy and you didn’t score tickets to the sold out BANFF Film Festival at the Boulder Theater, just head to TacoRita Wednesday at Mountain Sun. After 10PM, you can score $1 veggie or chicken tacos along with $5 margaritas. It’s cold outside. Stay warm with tequila and tacos. Mmmmmmm.
