While the rest of the country toils in some crappy sequel to a movie titled, ‘The Polar Vortex,” we’re sitting here ready with some sunshine. Blue skies. Y’know — the stuff that makes Colorado…Colorado. While our winter hasn’t been primo, it’s been decent. And with the chill coming off, it’s a fine time to get your smart on with these Boulder events for your brain and body around town this week.
Tonight is the Boulder Tech Job Fair. Enough about the 1% already — go find your percentage with the numerous Front Range tech companies looking for talent just like yours. It’s the end of complaining that you don’t like your job. With events like this, there is no complaining. The Boulder tech community is amazing and if you’re already a part of it, I’m preaching to the choir. But grab a stack of résumés and head over to the Chamber building this eve for your chance to score your dream gig with one of the area’s fastest growing companies.
If you already have your dream gig, you might want to pop over to Impact Hub Boulder over on Broadway and Walnut tonight. They’re hosting a 3-hour program this evening called Negotiations and Influence for Entrepreneurs. For $35, you’ll join Jason Gore, a former instructor at Harvard Business School, for an intense program designed to help you get your business where you’d like for it to be. Here are some key points the workshop will address:
- Tough conversations with team members
- Strategy decisions with your direct reports and co-founders
- Managing investors and board members
- Pricing with a key customer
- Dealing with angry or upset customers
- Partner negotiations
- Negotiations with vendors, suppliers, and or other groups
Purchase your ticket(s) using the link to the event above. Tickets are only on sale until about 2pm today — grab yours.
And if your brain has had enough, you can think on your feet over at the Newton Spring 2014 Product Launch Party. Boulder has no shortage of runners and if you’re among them, you don’t want to miss this event coming up on Friday. The event runs from 5:55-8PM at the Newton Running Lab on Walnut (1300 Walnut Street, Suite 20) and the first 25 people in the door will score a super smart Newton jacket (a sweet $90 value). There will be a DJ, a raffle for cool prizes, and everyone in the door gets both a drink and raffle ticket. So, if your running problem still trumps your drinking problem…er…habits, head on down to Newton for fast feet, fun, and a smart start to the 2014 running and multisport season. Event details here.
