Boulder Startup Week is coming up once again on May 15-19. In just under a month, the streets and office spaces of Downtown Boulder will be swarming with locals and visitors alike, all seeking to learn more about Boulder’s startup culture. Local entrepreneurs and business owners will be pouring their skills out for the benefits of others. Did you know that this week attracts a fair number of out-of-towners looking to explore all this is Boulder?
It’s true. And they need crash space.
Each year, Boulder Startup Week offers a “fly you to Boulder” program. Through this initiative, people who live outside Boulder considering a relocation to the area can apply to have their travel expenses picked up for the trip. Boulder always has deep needs when it comes to tech talent and this is just yet another way Boulder Startup Week makes it easy for people to get here and decide if they want to live and work here.
So, we’re asking — do you have a couch, spare room, bunk bed, or other accommodations you’d be able to lend a traveling soul? If so, here’s how you can help and who to contact:
- Needed: couch/spare bedroom/civilized sleeping space
- Dates: May 14-20 or any combination of dates in that range. This lets participants come into town the day prior and leave the day after Startup Week ends.
- How to Help: If you have space, drop an email to rich -at- richmaloy -dot- com with the subject line I Have Sleeping Space.
I always look forward to Boulder Startup Week each year — and the Boulder Beta party at Absinthe House is a not-to-be-missed event. You can check out all of the events on the schedule and if you’d like to host an event, there’s still time!
Here’s hoping you have a spare couch to extend Boulder hospitality to someone just like you who might love living here in this thriving region of business awesome.
