Nutrition: food and other nourishment necessary for life, health, and growth
Mindful Eating: Everything we eat has an effect on our health. The quality of our food choices affects our cells, tissues, organs, and even our minds. While eating certain foods can strengthen our bodies, eating other foods can weaken or even harm us.
Mindful eating is about bringing awareness to our entire experience surrounding food and nutrition. While much of nutrition is about focusing on the quality of the foods we eat, mindful eating goes beyond that. It invites us to listen to our bodies and discover how to respond.
By honoring our unique needs and individual make-up, we are guided along a path that both preserves our innate wellness and supports our health challenges.
Mindful Living: Lifestyle also plays a central role in our state of well-being. Just as we must nourish our bodies with quality foods, we must also nourish our spirit with the things that make our lives truly complete. Laughter, relaxation, exercise, connection, time in nature, and satisfying work are just some of the ways we can nurture ourselves.
Health involves more than eating or avoiding a certain combination of foods. We must “feed” these other areas of our life if we want to be truly nourished.

Erin Williams, MSN CN LMP, is the founder of EZBalance.com, a health and wellness company established in 2001.. As an established author, guest-lecturer, consultant, and instructor, Erin has enjoyed sharing her love of natural-health and wellness with people all over the world. She combines compassion, a love of fitness, a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry from Purdue University, and a Master’s of Science in Nutrition from Bastyr University–using her diverse areas of knowledge and expertise to help her students and clients grow into a more nutritionally-balanced, vitally-vigorous, and physiologically-unified whole.
