Last year, we were proud to partner with the Humane Society of Boulder Valley for their annual Doggie Dash. We’re back again for 2017 as a proud partner so Boulder and Denver area pups (and their people who buy their food and rub their bellies) can come out to the 2017 Doggie Dash!
Doggie Dash is the Humane Society of Boulder Valley’s summertime fundraiser and community celebration. Each year, HSBV helps more than 7,000 animals find their new, loving homes and the generosity of the community is what makes all those special family connections possible. By registering for Doggie Dash, you’re helping animals receive medical care, behavioral support, and a soft place to land while they’re waiting for their perfect person to walk through that shelter door!
Ready to Dash? Grab your sneakers, invite some friends, family, and pups, and head on out to the Boulder Reservoir on September 24 for a two-mile jog or stroll around the Reservoir. After a lap, you can cool down in the beer garden, jam to live music, enjoy tasty treats (for people AND pups) from multiple local food trucks and the Purina-sponsored Dog Treat Bar. You can also take in the doggone fantastic feats of the Purina Pro Plan Performance Team this year! These pups are a collection of some of the world’s most athletic canines performing amazing flying disc routines. Click here and check out their Facebook page with videos of their awesome antics.
Oh! And here’s a fun tidbit. Every year, the logo for the Doggie Dash is a bit different. This year’s was inspired by a lovable, sweet lab named Lucky and his fantastic person, Stef Luciano.
Lucky and Stef were the top fundraisers for the 2016 Doggie Dash, so HSBV made Lucky the inspiration for their logo! They’re doing the same thing again this year – the top individual fundraiser will find their pup as the 2018 Doggie Dash logo — so who knows? You and your pup just might make history with this year’s lap around the reservoir. Say hi to Lucky and Stef! (We think the logo looks just like him.)
“Lucky came into my life after I lost my Otis and wanted to adopt another pup so Maude would have a friend. Lucky stole my heart when I saw him on the HSBV website, and when I came to visit him I knew I wasn’t leaving without him! Since I love black dogs, that sealed the deal! Lucky loves the tennis ball, so we go to Coot Lake quite a bit for swims in the summer (great for Maude, too!). He loves to run and chase the ball — he’d rather chase the tennis ball than have treats! He always wants to be outside for hikes, swimming, and lazing in the sunshine. He also loves to snuggle, sleeps on the bed with me, and gets on the sofa when we are watching TV. He loves to be told what a good boy he is!” ~ Stef
You don’t have to convince us – Lucky sounds like the perfect Boulder pup!
So – get registered for this year’s Doggie Dash today! Round up your friends – two-legged, four-legged, and any number in-between – and we’ll see you out at the Reservoir on Sunday, September 24. The earlier you register, the longer you’ll have to fundraise for this amazing organization that promotes healthy relationships between pets and people. Help us celebrate the amazing relationships we share with our pets — and our community that helps make it all possible.
