This Valentine’s Day, Boulder Burlesque takes the stage to deliver performative love letters just waiting to be sent.
About this Event

Priority Mail! Before the era of DMs, nothing said “I need you right now” more than putting ink to paper with ones most desperate, desirous, or tender intentions. This February, Boulder Burlesque invites you to thumb through our stacks of yet unread and unwritten letters of the heart.

Return to sender; a love letter can collapse gaps in time and distance, bringing us into the breathless immediacy with which they were written. Witness each performer compose their own story in an intimate performance setting.

Special delivery! This showcase will include the debut of our beginner troupe, select advanced troupe performances, and opportunities for audience engagement.

Addressed to you: enjoy different acts on stage each night, including classic burlesque, neo-burlesque, theatrics, heartache, love, follies, and plenty of surprises, sealed and delivered for your enjoyment.

As always, we will push the envelope—maybe even tear it open in a fever-fit of our own.

Ten percent of ticket sales go to benefit Out Boulder.

Boulder Burlesque: where the profane is sacred

What to expect at a Boulder Burlesque performance:

-Our performers bring a range of interdisciplinary talents to the stage, from classic burlesque to neo-burlesque to comedic pieces to avante-garde performance art.

-Each act is like a mini-play, and delivers its own narrative, story, tone and message.

-Arrive early to get a good seat! Don’t be shy; sit close to the stage. Our performers love to engage and interact with the audience.

-Boulder Burlesque aims to create a safer, conscious and consensual space for all genders, sexualities, orientations, races, ages and abilities. Practice introducing yourself with your preferred pronouns when you arrive, and ask for consent before engaging in physical contact.

-Encourage the performers! Be vocal. Cheer, whistle, and applaud. Use respectful, encouraging language.

-Respect the performers. Keep your phone turned off and refrain from taking pictures. Do not touch the performers.

-Light refreshments are available for a small charge at the door. There is no alcohol served unless indicated otherwise in the event description.

-All Boulder Burlesque events are 18 and up unless otherwise indicated. You may be asked to present your ID at the door.

-Expect the unexpected. Come with an open mind and prepare to be entertained.
