AI Data Readiness Workshop (A Primer)
Thursday, November 5, 2026
10:00am – 11:00am
CU Boulder
The rise of AI-assisted research is changing not only how researchers analyze data, but also how data itself must be managed. Data intended for AI cannot simply be cleaned and passed into an AI model; it must also be well-structured with rich context to ensure reliable analysis with minimal human intervention. Without properly optimized data, AI tools can easily hallucinate, misinterpret variables, or generate incomplete analysis. Simply put, before integrating AI into research workflows, it is imperative that the data is prepared and ready for AI. This Primer* will discuss the primary tenants of “AI-ready” data and how to properly assess the readiness of a given dataset. This is intended to be an introductory workshop and does not require any prior experience with AI workflows, specific programming topics or languages, and is not tied to a specific research domain. It is recommended that participants be familiar with the basic concepts of AI and to come with a general idea of the kind...
