Wouldn’t it be awesome if you could combine happy hour with education? That, my friends, would be a very happy hour. The good news is, it’s coming to Boulder Book Store on May 16 with and event featuring Paula Mitchell, author of “Exploring Colorado Wineries.”
When you’re done with work for the day, mosey on down to the Boulder Book Store. You’re in for an evening filled with everything you didn’t know about Colorado’s winery and tasting room scene, as well as some ideal accoutrements to round out the entire experience. Boulder’s own Cured and Boulder Creek Winery will be providing wine tastings and samplings of fine food for those in attendance for the evening.
The cost of admission is, as always, the price of a $5 voucher that you can use towards the purchase of the author’s book. Methinks $5 is a great deal, especially when you’re getting insight into the state’s 125+ wineries along with gratis sips and snacks.
So go ahead – circulate this blog post around the office and gather a group of friends. There’s nothing wrong at all with a little wine on Pearl Street, and there’s definitely nothing wrong with getting more familiar with the action down at Cured. It’s all delicious.
Some random wine facts about Colorado, just to whet your whistle:
- Wine production in Colorado dates back (officially) to 1899
- Colorado’s vineyards rest between 4000 and 7000 feet, making them the highest in the Northern Hemisphere
- Merlot is the state’s most widely planted varietal (sorry, Sideways fans)
