No lie — it’s been hot. Damn hot.
Last week’s Open Arts Fest was quite the scorcher, so where can fun-loving Boulderite go when they’re looking for ways to stay both entertained and cool? On the tail end of summer, we have a few ideas.
Madaline Peyroux at the Boulder Theater
Her vocal stylings take you back to the days of Patsy Cline and crooner ladies of days long since past. On Friday, August 2, you’ll be able to catch her at the Boulder Theater up close and personal. Get ready for a sweetly rolling evening filled with renditions of old classics, new takes, and in a way only Ms. Peyroux can deliver.
Boulder Outdoor Cinema at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art
We have a whole primer on the entire Boulder Outdoor Cinema lineup for this year. This Saturday, catch Moonrise Kingdom, a family adventure film, in the outdoor splendor behind the BMOCA. The Jeff Brinkman Band is performing this week before the flick.
BOP SKIZZUM at Bands on the Bricks
Get on down to Pearl Street on Wednesday, July 31 for some foot-stomping action from BOP SKIZZUM at Bands on the Bricks. They’re funkadelic and fantastic! This week, the margarita garden continues and Avery Brewing rolls into the beer sponsorship slot (mmmm….White Rascal). Grab a bevvie and get your groove on — festivities start at 5:30PM.
And — if you ever head out to any of the events we share out and around Boulder, we hear there might be some shutterbugs in our readership. If so, fantastic! Head on over to our Facebook page and post your event photos. We’ll select the best (or the best of the worst, the funniest, and oddest) and share them over to our main feed. Can’t wait to see what you catch on film.
