Rare Things to Do This Fall Weekend in Boulder: September 20th-22nd

By Jennifer Zukowski

It’s officially Fall this weekend in Boulder, and of course, we’re all celebrating!

Well, actually the equinox is technically Monday, but there are plenty of ways to begin ushering in the new season over the weekend, too: Boulder spiritual center StarHouse is hosting a ritual on Sunday evening, in Communion With The Season, and Unity Church is also hosting a community ritual and food sharing event that evening as well. If your idea of a new season ritual is dancing the night away ecstatically, Bohemian Biergarten has your back, with a dance party celebrating the equinox, on Saturday night.

The ZEE Jaipur Literature Festival is known as the “greatest literary show on earth” and it’s back in Boulder for its 5th year here. Go to the Boulder Public Library for a free sharing of all kinds of contemporary authors’ reflections, readings, and talks, almost all weekend. Talk about brain food.

Boulder is still celebrating every beer fan’s favorite mid-September festival: Oktoberfest! Make your way down to the Boulder Civic area (that’s all-around Broadway, Canyon, Central Park, and all that area) on Friday or Saturday to oompah your way to September celebration! Activities, music, contests, amazing food of all (especially German) kinds, and of course: beer, beer, and more beer! Oh, and the Tune Up (the taproom at Full Cycle) is also celebrating Oktoberfest this entire weekend, too, with deals on foods and pints and more. Prost!

Happy autumn, Boulder, and have a good time this weekend!
