Ho! Ho! Ho!
Wait — what did you just call me? It’s not important. I digress.
If you’re like most Boulder parents, you’re scrambling about now. Between swerving in and out of traffic around the 29th Street Mall and downtown Pearl Street pedestrians, it’s that tourist time of year. Rental cars not quite understanding our “weird crosswalks” and nearly hitting countless cyclists who are completely unaware they’re approaching imminent doom from out-of-towners. I won’t even get into what the Whole Foods and Target parking lots look like (read: pack a lunch).
Yep — welcome to the holidays in Boulder!
If you’re scrambling for that ONE THING the parents or grandparents asked for (you know, that picture of your kids with Santa), you’ve still got one last chance. St. Nick on the Bricks is still going on through the 21st (that’s Saturday) at 13th and Pearl so you can snap that creepily nostalgic picture of your kid on stranger’s lap.
At least it will be fun for…someone.
Visits with Santa are completely free but you’ll have to bring your own camera. Can we recommend not trusting this precious moment to your iPhone and maybe grab something that’s going to take the pictures your relatives will frame and subsequently use to shame your child for decades to come? Maybe a friend’s digital camera. Just an idea.
Point being: Santa’s in Boulder until Saturday. Then, he’s off in his sleigh to unload toys, joys, and lumps of coal to those on his lists of Naughty and Nice. While I’m confident he’ll only be dropping solar panels in Boulder County, I shudder to think about the sheer weight of all that coal he’s going to be delivering next week.
