This Friday, we’re all still in Boulder. Valentine’s Day also just happens to be on Friday (what are the odds?). Sounds like a Boulder Valentine’s Day to me!
Just in case you weren’t reminded by every card, chocolate and flower retailer in the biz, and if you don’t already have plans, you might want to think about making reservations at Shine for the evening.
Of course, most people know Shine as Boulder’s Downtown eatery with a penchant for hosting events that aren’t exactly every day. Well, this Valentine’s Day is no exception as the restaurant is making a unique, yet delicious, spin on the holiday.
First things first, if you want to work up and appetite, Shine is hosting, Dance, Baby, Dance, a free dance party from 4:30 to 6 pm to benefit One Billion Rising for Justice.
Then, make sure you make reservations for the specially prepared dinner for the evening. The a la carte menu features Golden Hoof Farms Lamb, Lasater Farms Farms Beef, House made Butternut Squash Ravioli, Hazeldell Mushroom Vegan Bisque as well as the other menu favorites that you know and love.
It’s when the sun sets on Valentine’s Day that Shine will transform from restaurant to burlesque show.
Rocky Mountain Kings and Boulder Burlesque Present “Draglesque” starting at 8:30 pm and going until 12:30 am. The tickets to this fun event are $10 online or $12 at the door and 10% of the proceeds from this event go to benefit SPAN and to support therapy for the local transgender community.
This is the kind of evening that is unlike any other. You can come with your love, find a new love or just love on yourself; plus, with so many great charities involved, you can show your love and support for the diverse community at large. Truly a Boulder Valentine’s Day — benefitting the community.
Get your tickets online or purchase them at the door at Shine and don’t forget to call ahead to make dinner reservations (303-449-0120).
