From Stress to Renewal: Understanding and Completing Your Stress Cycle

Monday, December 7, 2026
3:00pm – 4:00pm
CU Boulder
As the semester comes to a close, many educators find themselves balancing the demands of final grading, reports, and year-end responsibilities while also preparing for the holidays, travel, family commitments, and the transition back after winter break. This workshop explores how chronic stress affects the nervous system and offers practical, evidence-informed strategies to complete the stress cycle, cultivate resilience, and prevent burnout. Drawing on the work of Emily and Amelia Nagoski, the U.S. Surgeon General's Framework for Workplace Mental Health and Well-Being, and contemplative practices, participants will learn skills to support their well-being both professionally and personally. Participants will leave with realistic tools to navigate the end-of-semester demands with greater awareness, self-compassion, and balance while creating sustainable practices that extend well beyond the holiday season.
