The Boulder Outdoor Cinema doesn’t get rockin’ until July this year. If you’re itching for a movie outside, bust out of the Boulder bubble and head to Louisville. Dinner and a Movie in the Park starts tonight (Wednesday, May 22).
In about fifteen minutes, you can be safely delivered from your home in Boulder to Louisville Community Park. There, you’ll find some of the best food trucks in Colorado (service begins at 5PM) and when dusk rolls around, the movies starts.
Here’s a listing of the food trucks that are rollin’ up to Louisville:
- BONE WAGON
- CHEESE LOUISE
- COMIDA
- CROCK SPOT
- HEIRLOOM
- MANNA FROM HEAVEN
- PINK TANK
- ROLLING GREENS
- SALTBOX
- SEBS PIZZA
- SESAME SEED
- STEUBEN’S
- SWEET COW
- THE TASTERIE TRUCK
- TOP OF THE HILL GRILL
- VERDE
- WAFFLE CAKES
- WANDERING COW
And, if you want to mark your calendar for a beyond-the-Boulder-bubble trek, here’s a list of the upcoming movies and dates (all information is courtesy of the event website — be sure to stop by, say hello, and check their website for updates):
May 22: Goonies
June 12: E.T.
June 26: The Karate Kid
July 10: Back to the Future
July 24: Jurassic Park
August 7: SURPRISE MOVIE!
August 21 (final movie of the season): Wreck It Ralph
Now, if you’ve never made the trek over to Louisville from your Boulder-shaped cocoon, here are some tips.
- Arrive early: Parking is primarily in residential areas and curbside. You might be walking a few blocks.
- Parking tip: Since parking is residential, be respectful of the residents. Be sure to stay clear of driveways and alleyways and be on the lookout for fire hydrants and designated no parking zones.
- Chairs: Bring low-to-the-ground chairs or blankets out fo respect for other moviegoers
The movies are free. Now, the only question is: will you be free for an event beyond the Boulder bubble?
