Those in search of a casual yet delectable meal in Boulder need look no further — the creators of Frasca bring you Pizzeria Locale!
Tucked neatly between 17th and 18th streets on Pearl Street, you’ll find something delicious — liquid or solid — waiting for you from lunchtime onward, seven days a week.
The dining environment is cafe-style modern. While it’s definitely not a destination for quiet meals and intimate conversations, it’s an ideal venue for lunches, happy hours with friends and colleagues, and dinner with friends and family alike.
The bar area is quite spacious, which means happy hour here is a no-brainer. Some not-to-miss happy hour (and aperitivo-all-the-time) specials are the polpettine (pork and walnut pest meatballs), their olives (divine!), and the arancino (risotto balls served with mozzarella).
If you’ve never had Neopolitan-style pizza, you’re in for a treat. A thin crust that’s crisp on the edges yet softer in the middle, you’ll be enjoying a pizza where the crust doesn’t overpower the toppings. Local favorites include the Mais (a combination of corn, mozzarella, and creme fraiche) and their classic Margherita (a bare bones and mozzarella and basil delicacy). Whatever you order, it will be prepared right in front of you in their pizza kitchen and will likely arrive at your table plenty hot and in need of a few minutes to cool down. Nothing wrong with knowing you’re getting a fresh meal, hand-crafted just for you!
And for a brief early evening escape, don’t miss their happy hour. It runs from 4:30-5:30PM daily and offers some of the town’s best deals on wine, beer, and selections from their aperitivo menu. You can nosh and sip for under $10 per person and get a tide-over to a later dinner…or just call your happy hour a very happy — and early — dinner!
