About this business

I have been taking photographs for more than 30 years, starting with my dad's Canon in high school, followed by more formal training and many darkroom hours in college. Then, a semester abroad set me on an international course for the next 10 years.

After graduating from Washington University, I taught high school English in rural Namibia for 2 years and traveled throughout southern Africa in my free time. When I returned, I received my MSW with a focus on International Social Welfare from Columbia. This gave me the tools to develop socioeconomic programs for landmine survivors and others with disabilities in post-conflict countries.

In my travels, I was never without my camera (except once when it was stolen). I've had amazing opportunities to meet extraordinary people and capture images from all corners of the globe.  My understanding of what motivates people and eye for detail drives my photography and my photography continues to open my eyes to new ways of seeing the world around me.

Since having children, I've packed away my passport for the time being and turned my attention to my work in Boulder.  Whether I am photographing families or shooting for interior designers and realtors,  I always aim for clean, beautiful and spontaneous images.
