About this business

I always end up in the kitchen. It is the room I am most comfortable being in. Armed with The Silver Palate Cookbook, my first dinner party featured raspberry vinaigrette, and shrimp with apples and snow peas served on my grandmother's china to three girlfriends. I was 13. The desire to feed people delicious and beautiful food is in my bones, and has moved me to create kitchens where people move comfortably, laugh easily and want to linger.

It just took me a few decades to get here. Before moving to Colorado in 2011, I had studied interior architecture at California College of the Arts, obtained culinary and pastry degrees from Le Cordon Bleu Paris, co-owned a bakery in NYC, worked as a food stylist and writer, and spent many years cooking in residential kitchens as a caterer. After completing the renovation of my home – and dream kitchen – in 2016, I am back at the drafting table having fused my cooking and design expertise into studio strongwater.
