It’s that wonderful time of year again – Farmers Market season. Farmers Markets in Boulder are definitely much more than just a place to grab produce. It’s an opportunity to support local farmers and small, local businesses. Often, you’ll find unique, hard to find fruits and vegetables that can’t be found in your typical grocery store.

Plus, there is so much more than just product at Boulder farmers markets. You’ll find fresh flowers and plants, prepared foods, drinks, artisan crafts, jewelry, clothing, and more. Even if you’re not shopping for food, you can find activities for the kids, live music, free samples, and food drinks.

Downtown Boulder Farmers Market

Where: Central Park (13th and Canyon)

Dates & Times: Wednesdays and Saturdays, 8 a.m. until 2 p.m.

What’s there: Approximately 150 participants of Colorado-grown produce plus prepared foods, flowers, homemade scented soaps, and crafts

Other Info: No pets allowed

Longmont Farmers Market

Where: Boulder County Fairgrounds, 9595 Nelson Road

Dates & Times: Saturdays, 8 a.m. until 1 p.m.

What’s there: Besides fresh local produce, there are free kid’s activities every week and live music weekly (from 10 a.m. until 1p.m.) Check out a list of their vendors.
Other Info: There is a complimentary bike valet at the fairgrounds with Bicycle Longmont along with free parking. No pets allowed.

Lafayette Farmers Market

Where: Downtown Lafayette, 600 South Public Road

Dates & Times: Thursday evenings, 4 p.m. until 8 p.m.

What’s there: Local Colorado produce, meat, eggs, flowers, and food artisans.
Other Info: Dogs and other pets are not allowed.

Louisville Farmers Market

Where: Downtown Louisville, 824 Front Street

Dates & Times: Saturdays, 9 a.m. until 1 p.m.

What’s there: Both organic and conventional locally grown fruits and vegetables, meats, eggs, wines, artisan breads, honey, coffee, baked goods, fresh salsas, pastas, and natural body care
Other Info: You’ll also find gluten-free options.

Erie Farmers Market

Where: Briggs Street between Wells and Moffatt

Dates & Times: Thursday evenings, 5 p.m. until 8 p.m.

What’s there: In addition to fresh local produce, find fresh pastries and breads, flowers, health and wellness products, beauty products, jewelry, art, and prepared foods

Tips for Shopping at the Farmers Markets 

  • Farmers Markets in Boulder are often bustling, and it’s probably best to leave the dogs at home (especially since in most cases they aren’t allowed).
  • Buy what’s in season for the freshest produce with the best quality.
  • Go early to avoid the crowds.
  • Bring your own reusable shopping bags.
  • If you want to experiment with a new ingredient you haven’t used before, ask the farmer for tips on cooking.
